Circuit Court eFiling Now Available in Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook
On October 15 eFiling services opened in three coastal circuit courts: Clatsop, Columbia, and Tillamook. These circuit courts implemented the Oregon eCourt Case Information (OECI) system in August 2013, and the October launch brings the total number of courts that have deployed the File & Serve component of Oregon eCourt to eight counties.
File & Serve deployments will follow a set schedule aligned with the Oregon eCourt Case Information implementation schedule. Thirty working days after each Oregon circuit court implements the Oregon eCourt Case Information system, the court will begin a pilot phase of the File & Serve component. The pilot phase allows each court to use several local law firms to put eFiling to the test for a 14-day period before opening eFiling services to all users in their county.
Attorneys who wish to eFile cases in circuit courts that currently have eFiling services can register online for access to the File & Serve portal by going to the OJD eFiling homepage. Before registering for File & Serve, users are responsible for completing the free online training (short, self-study online classes or live webinars) accessed under the "TRAIN" section of the File & Serve portal page. User and quick reference guides are provided in the "LEARN" section.
While other types of eFilers can register for access too, the availability of electronic forms and other user assistance processes for non-attorney self-represented eFilers remain in development and are not scheduled for release until late 2014.
As of October 1, 2013 there are no additional service charges for using OJD eFiling.
Benton and Polk circuit courts are next to implement the Oregon eCourt Case Information (OECI) system, currently planned for Monday, January 13, 2014, opening access to the general public on January 27. After completing a pilot phase in February, both courts will deploy File & Serve in March 2014.
