The LRE Subcommittee develops and implements programs to educate and inform the public about the law. Projects include the statewide High School Essay Contest and Lawyer in the Classroom.
The subcommittee utilizes www.iCivics.org, a website with innovative civics-focused educational materials founded by Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
This subcommittee focuses on meeting the needs of law students and recent graduates as they make the transition from student to lawyer. Projects include law school career presentations and law student receptions.
The goals of the Member Services Subcommittee include bringing new lawyers from around the state together and providing a network for professional and social interaction and conducting programs that are of value to new lawyers. and promoting professionalism among new lawyers. Events include new lawyer receptions, afterwork socials and the annual meeting.
Organizes opportunities for new lawyers to gain practical skills through various programs including the Practical Skills through Public Service program and the Law College program.
The Pro Bono subcommittee identifies pro bono needs not being addressed by other organizations and suggests ONLD programs and proposals to enhance delivery of legal services to the indigent.
