Loan Repayment Assistance Benefits Increased
The mission of the OSB Loan Repayment Assistance Program is to attract and retain public service lawyers by helping them pay their educational debt. Substantial educational debt can create a financial barrier to lawyers pursuing or continuing careers in public service law.
The Board of Governors has approved changes to the loan repayment assistance program, raising the salary cap to $65,000 and increasing the forgivable loan benefit to $7,500 per year for up to three years. As a result, more Oregon lawyers should qualify for repayment assistance.
For more information on the program and to find out if you qualify, visit www.osbar.org/lrap.
Mentors Needed
Are you are a lawyer in good standing who has been practicing for at least five years? Would you like to share your wisdom with a new lawyer and earn up to eight MCLE credits for your assistance? The New Lawyer Mentoring Program is actively seeking new mentors.
