More than one-fourth of all Oregon lawyers — 26 percent — are over age 60, and 20 percent are 50-59. Thus, combined, nearly half the bar's active membership is 50 or older. Increasingly, more cases over the past two to three years are involving cognitive decline. Lawyer assistance agencies all across the country, including Oregon, are facing the same issue and are evaluating how they approach such problems, as Cliff Collins reports.
