2013 OSB Award Winners Will Be Honored Dec. 5 in Portland
The Oregon State Bar invites all to the 2013 Awards Luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Governor Hotel in Portland. Awards are given out each year to recognize outstanding work in the legal profession in Oregon.
This year’s award recipients are:
Award of Merit: David Thornburgh.
Wallace P. Carson Jr. Award for Judicial Excellence: Hon. Paul J. De Muniz.
President’s Membership Service Award: David Heynderickx and Gina Johnnie.
President’s Public Service Award: Gene Grant.
President’s Affirmative Action Award: Hon. Angel Lopez.
President’s Sustainability Award: Max Miller.
President’s Special Award of Appreciation: Gerry Gaydos and Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum.
Edwin J. Peterson Professionalism Award: Hon. David V. Brewer.

MCLE Compliance Reports Have Been Sent Via Email
Compliance reports for members whose MCLE reporting period ends Dec. 31, 2013, were sent via email the week of Oct. 14. All credits must be completed by the end of 2013, and the completed compliance report is due in the MCLE office no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 31, 2014.

Deadline for Bar Bills
The deadline for sections and committees to submit legislative proposals for bar sponsorship in the 2015 session of the Oregon Legislature is April 4, 2014.
Materials should describe the proposal in detail and include suggested language. Please make sure that the section executive committee or full committee has approved the proposal by majority vote prior to its submission to the OSB Public Affairs Department. Public affairs staff are available to assist groups with proposals.

FastCase Tip: Choose How You Print
Have you ever printed something from a website, only to find that some of the page has been cut off or the URL is printed across the bottom of the page? Fastcase allows you to print clean, single or dual-column Word documents, PDF documents or WordPerfect-compatible rich text format documents.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Once you’ve found your case, click the Print/Save link located in the gray bar above the case.
2. Choose your preferred number of columns in the “Number of Columns” drop-down box.
3. You can also choose whether to print the document from Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat in the Format drop-down box.
4. When you’ve selected all your preferences, press Print/Save and your document will open in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat.
5. From here, you can save the document and print it later or print it right away.
