Not Paid Your 2009 Dues Yet? Don’t Miss July 1
Active and inactive members admitted prior to 2009 who have not yet paid their 2009 membership fees must remit payment by 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, to avoid suspension for non-payment of fees.

Members can pay fees(using a Visa or MasterCard), confirm receipt of payment or view any balance due online. No login is required to access or pay fees online.

Credit card payments are not accepted by mail, telephone, fax or e-mail.

Two PLF Board Positions Open
The board of directors of the Professional Liability Fund is looking for two lawyer members to serve five-year terms beginning January 2010. Directors attend approximately six two-day board meetings each year, as well as various committee meetings, and are required to spend a considerable amount of time reading board materials between meetings and participating in telephone conference calls.

PLF policies prohibit directors and their firms from prosecuting or defending claims against lawyers.

Choose How the Bar Communicates With You
The world is a noisy place. Anyone and everyone wants to communicate with you — via phone, fax, email, the post office or however else they can get your attention. And while many of these communications are good for your practice, sometimes you get so overloaded by messages that you just want to give up and delete everything.

That’s why the bar has created a new communications tool to help you sort through some of the clutter. Just log in to your account at www.osbar.org and click on the “Communications Preferences” tab in the left-hand column. From there you can choose which bar communications you wish to receive and how you wish to receive them. Do you want Bar News e-mails sent to your home e-mail address? You can do that. Would you prefer to have section list serve comments sent in digest form? You can do that too. And you can change your preferences at any time.

While you may opt out of some communications, you cannot opt out of regulatory messages that could affect your membership status. Also, note that outside groups may have access to our mailing lists, but they do not have access to the member preferences. Because of this, you might still receive unwanted communications from outside groups.

Attorneys Night at Volcanoes Stadium: You’re Invited
On Saturday, June 27, the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes will be honoring attorneys in attendance at the Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer. Anyone is welcome: attorneys, staff, family, friends and clients.

The highlight of the evening will be the professional baseball game between the Boise Hawks, Class A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, and the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, Class A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. A post-game concert will feature “the next Patsy Cline,” Maggie Felber and the Freedom Street Band.
