The 14th Annual Litigation Institute and Retreat continues its
tradition of excellence by providing Oregon litigators an opportunity to hear
from some of the best practitioners around. CLE presentations will include
three Oregon lawyers describing their experience in Houston defending the former
CEO of Enron Broadband Services, and Idaho attorney David Nevin discussing
the recent terrorism prosecution of a Saudi Arabian graduate student. Featured
speaker Terence MacCarthy, who is nationally recognized for his engaging and
savvy style and irreverent humor, will engage you with his two half-day presentations, "Look
Good Cross" and "Impeachment — Weapons of Mass Destruction." Then,
please join the Litigation Section in honoring the recipient of the 10th Annual
Owen M. Panner Professional Award, James L. Sutherland, U.S. Attorney’s
Office, Portland, at its award dinner Friday evening. Cosponsored by the Litigation
Section.

20th Annual Northwest Bankruptcy Institute
For
its 20th anniversary, the Northwest Bankruptcy Institute brings to Vancouver
some of the best from past institutes, including the Hon. Keith Lundin and
Henry Hildebrand reviewing recent Chapter 13 developments and Eric Brunstad
discussing bankruptcy cases in the U.S. Supreme Court. The institute also features
a session on ethical issues in business bankruptcies, a trustees’ panel,
and five breakout sessions. Long considered the premier bankruptcy program
for Northwest practitioners, the 2007 institute promises to be no exception.
