Michael Simon, a senior litigator at Perkins Coie, was elected a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Simon is a former trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, antitrust division, in Washington, D.C., and a former special assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia. His litigation practice focuses on antitrust, class actions and appellate cases.

Steven B. Ungar, shareholder and chair of Lane Powell’s white-collar criminal defense and regulatory compliance practice group, has been appointed by Gov. Ted Kulongoski to serve as chair of the Oregon Lottery Commission.

The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers announces the induction of Luella E. Nelson of Portland as a newly elected fellow. The organization recognizes those who, by long and outstanding service, have distinguished themselves as leaders in the field.

Miller Nash litigation partner Dennis Rawlinson has been elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is the 2006 president of the Oregon State Bar and the division director of the ABA Section of Litigation.
