Visit 12:41 PM MCLE page at www. the osbar.org/mcle for answers to frequently asked questions, to review the full text of the MCLE rules and regulations and see a table summary of the new reporting categories, as well as quick links to the relevant portions of the MCLE rules. Remember, the MCLE Reporting tab on your member dashboard will always have up-to-date information on the number and types of credit you need, as well as a list of credits that have been recorded for the current reporting period. Contact the MCLE Department at (503) 620-0222, ext. 368 with any questions. New Membership Status: Retired The Oregon Supreme Court has amended the MCLE rules to eliminate the “retired” MCLE exception due to the creation of a new retired membership status for Oregon lawyers instead. OSB members who change their status to retired will be exempt from the MCLE and IOLTA compliance requirements and can hold themselves out as a retired member of the bar. This status is appropriate if you will be fully retired and will not practice law. The current retired member fee is $125 per year (unless you are a 50-year member, in which case fees are waived). Celebrate Pro Bono Oct. 27 This year’s Pro Bono Fair will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, at the World Trade Center in Portland. The event begins with three free CLE seminars: “Prioritizing Pro Bono in Your Practice: Ethics & Opportunities for New Lawyers”; “LASO Domestic Violence Project: Representing DV Survivors in Restraining Order Cases”; and “Pro Bono Service in Federal Court: Always a Treat.” A reception and awards ceremony will follow. Contact Michelle Lane at mlane@ osbar.org for more details and to register. 38 OREGON STATE BAR BULLETIN • OCTOBER 2016
