The Oregon Jewish Community Foun- dation has named Steve Kantor, and his wife, Elaine, as the 2016 OJCF Leg- acy Society Hon- orees, recognizing their leadership and generosity as well as their impact as volunteers for both Jewish and general community organizations over the years. They were feted at the founda- tion’s annual meeting and reception June 15 in Portland. Steve Kantor is a past presi- dent and one of the founding members of OJCF, as well as an inaugural member of the foundation’s Professional Advisors Group. A partner at Samuels Yoelin Kan- tor in Portland, Steve Kantor is an accom- plished business, estate and trust attorney and educator with more than 35 years of experience in the planning and adminis- tration of complex issues. Stoel Rives partner Timothy L. McMahan has served its board since 2011 and currently is board vice chair and chair of the board’s planning and strategy committee. McMahan practices in the areas of energy, land use, real estate de- velopment, environmental and munici- pal law, and has extensive experience in representing energy facility developers, property owners and municipal clients in Washington and Oregon. The Oregon Zoo Foundation has elected Lane Pow- ell shareholder Bob Maloney as chair- man of the advo- cacy committee and to serve on the executive commit- tee of its board of directors. Lane Powell recently hosted a lunch and learning event with zoo repre- sentatives, which included two presenta- tions titled “Zoo Chimp Chloe with a Go Pro Camera” and “The Making of Ele- phant Lands,” as well as discussions about animal enrichment and current research, and information about the new education center opening this fall. Tonkon Torp at- torney Melina La­ Morticella has been elected chair of the Oregon chapter of the American Immigration Law- yers Association. A member of the firm’s business im- migration practice group, LaMorticella represents regional and international companies in a variety of matters related to employment-based immigration. She has served as a volunteer liaison for the Oregon AILA chapter, working with state agencies on immigration issues, as well as community outreach efforts. Miller Nash Graham & Dunn part- ner Elisa Dozono was recently appointed to serve as chair of Metro’s Metropoli- tan Exposition Rec- reation Commis- sion. Dozono has served on MERC’s board in various ca- pacities since 2007, including serving as secretary (2009- 2010), chair (2010-2011) and vice chair (2011-2012). Dozono focuses her legal practice on business litigation and govern- ment relations and is engaged in several community and professional organizations, including the Oregon Lottery Commission (chair), the Oregon Asian Pacific Ameri- can Bar Association (cofounder and past president) and Cascade AIDS Project and Emerge Oregon (board member). Tonkon Torp part- ner Drew Hage­ dorn has been appointed to the board of directors of Friends of Base- ball. The nonprofit organization offers programs to youths in underserved and rural communities to create opportuni- ties for success on and off the baseball and softball field. Hagedorn is a lifelong base- ball fan who is in the third generation of players in his family. He chairs the firm’s state Government Relations and Public Policy practice group and is a long-time public affairs professional. The Oregon Women Lawyers Founda- tion announces its 2016-17 board officers.
